Planning your next adventure? Be careful what you pack. Some seemingly harmless items can land you in hot water - or worse - at international borders. What’s totally normal at home might be illegal in your dream destination.

Here are the top travel items to double-check before packing:
🚭 1. Vapes & E-Cigarettes
Banned in: India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Qatar, Thailand, and the Philippines. Vaping laws vary widely, and some countries have complete bans with severe penalties, including jail time. Always check local laws before bringing your device.

👕 2. Camouflage Clothing
Banned in: Uganda, Nigeria, and many Caribbean nationsEven fashion camo is often prohibited. In some countries, wearing camouflage is reserved strictly for the military - and civilians can face fines or arrest.
🤧 3. Cold Remedies with Pseudoephedrine
Restricted in: Japan. Medications like Sudafed and some Vicks products contain pseudoephedrine, which is a controlled substance in Japan. Always bring medications in their original packaging and carry a prescription if needed.

💊 4. Codeine-Based Products
Banned in: Japan, Indonesia, Egypt, and the UAE. Found in many over-the-counter cough syrups and painkillers, codeine is banned in these countries. If caught, you could face confiscation or prosecution.
🍬 5. Chewing Gum & Plastic Bags
Banned in:
Chewing gum: Singapore (except medicinal gum like nicotine, and only with a prescription)
Plastic bags: Bangladesh & Rwanda
Singapore is especially strict and has hefty fines for bringing in or chewing non-medicinal gum. Meanwhile, countries like Rwanda have declared all plastic bags illegal to protect the environment.
✈️ What You Can Do
Research local laws before every trip
